Called to Care is an event that the Society of St. Vincent de Paul puts on from what I gather annually where they offer a huge breakfast celebration at over 5 different valley locations to help feed and shelter the poor and homeless of the area. The official name of the fundraising event is Called to Care: Transforming Lives Community Breakfast which will be held on April 10. It will take place in 5 different St. Vincent de Paul dining rooms, the Ozanam Manor shelter and Special Works Ministries.

For those that aren’t homeless this is charitable giving event will allow you to see what exactly this organization does for the lesser fortunate. You will have an opportunity to hear stories of those that have been helped by SVdP and also be encouraged to offer a donation. This in my opinion is the best charity donation opportunity of 2008. Instead of handing your money over in an online donation forum, you will get to see exactly how much it is helping the lesser fortunate in our area.
