The largest upcoming Society of St. Vincent de Paul event in Phoenix is the Called to Care Breakfast on April 10. As I mentioned in a previous post this is an opportunity not only for the many lesser fortunate in the Valley to get a great meal at the multiple Phoenix area SVdP locations but also for the many people interested in hearing the stories of the homeless and finding out how they can make a bigger difference in their community. If this charitable giving event sounds interesting call 602-261-6837 for more information or RSVP at lzschokke@svdp-phx-az.org.

There’s another charitable giving inspired Open Hearts Tour going on this Thursday, March 27. These are frequent SVdP open houses that give outsiders an inside look at what the society offers in terms of the community and charity donation. It will take place at their main campus on Thursday beginning at 5:30 pm.  If interested RSVP at 602-261-6814.

The weather is heating up and that only makes life more difficult for the many homeless that aren’t afforded the luxury of air conditioned quarters, making this a great time to donate your time or money.
